Well it’s that time of year again – time for our Abila User and Developer Conference (AUDC 2017)! It’s our one opportunity annually to gather together as customers, partners, and Abila product experts to learn from each other, network, and ultimately head back to our respective offices refreshed and fortified with new ideas to implement in our day-to-day work life.

As the countdown to Nashville begins, and I put the finishing touches on this year’s fund accounting presentations, I’m getting excited to see all our conference goers!

To my accounting peeps, here are some sessions and activities in which I hope to see you …

Accounting Best Practices – I’m feeling extra lucky this year, as I’ll have Abila R&D’s Tracy Fussell join me for Accounting Best Practices. Tracy’s focus has been in the Usability Labs the last couple of AUDC events, but if you’ve been attending AUDC as long as I have, you’ll remember her great presentations.

During our session, Tracy and I will be sharing some tips on troubleshooting batch errors, monthly closing, and the NSF wizard. We’ve spoken with several of our colleagues in Support to gather the most frequently-asked questions regarding accounting issues – particularly those that have come up since last year’s AUDC. We’ll be going over how to address the most common user issues. And, for those of you who may not have attended my previous accounting sessions, we’ll throw in some old favorites.

Ask the Experts – All the experts are studying extra hard for these sessions (me included), so we aren’t stumped! This year we’re opening the Ask the Experts session to all topics, not just accounting. In addition, we’re going to open the expert panel to you, the audience. So, come join us to learn and share expertise.

Hands-On Lab – While I’m not presenting at any of the Hands-On Lab sessions, I’m very excited to hear your feedback on them and additional topics you’d like to see in the future.  Right now, all the Hands-On Lab sessions are sold out, but I understand that sometimes we have a little extra room for walk-ins.  So, if there is one you really would like to attend, please stop by to see if we had some last-minute openings.

Fund Accounting Track – There’s a learning track just for fund accounting, chockful of sessions to help you get the most out of your fund accounting software (many of which are CPE-credit eligible)! Plus, new this year, are our Big Brain Palooza sessions focused on thought leadership topics important to the various sectors we service, including Nonprofit Finance and Accounting. These sessions are an answer to previous conference goers requests to have time during the event to gather with peers and discuss hot industry topics and trends.

It’s not too late to register for AUDC 2017. See you soon in Nashville!
