June is bursting at the calendar with loads of fun stuff. There’s the widely celebrated Father’s Day. And, Flag Day, of course. But there’s also the more obscure National Yo-Yo Day, Name Your Poison Day, and Repeat Day. Repeat Day. (Sorry, couldn’t resist.)
June is also National Adopt-a-Cat Month, sponsored by the American Humane Association. So, we thought it the purrrrrfect (again, sorry) opportunity to share a Success Story of Abila client, the Lexington Humane Society (LHS).
The largest pet adoption agency in Central Kentucky, LHS’s mission is to advocate for the compassionate treatment of animals; educate the community on responsible, lifelong pet ownership; and promote adoption as the best option when searching for a new pet.
In 2015, LHS adopted nearly 5,000 animals into loving homes; provided 3,500 free and low-cost spay/neuter surgeries through its Spay’sTheWay program; educated more than 3,000 people through its camps, tours, and school outreach programs; provided 800 animals with lifesaving foster homes; and saved 95 percent of the animals in its care.
Up until recently, the team wrangled with an antiquated website and clunky, third-party online fundraising software, and consequently, was missing out on critical donations and spending valuable staff time on tasks that could’ve been easily handled with modern technology.
This past January, LHS launched a new website and implemented Abila Fundraising Online (AFO). Since then, it’s seen a huge boost in online revenue, vastly improved the donor experience, and saved some 17 hours of staff time per month.
So, before you head out to your nearest humane society to adopt that kitty cat, you’ll want to read the Lexington Humane Society’s full Success Story and register for our July 21 webinar, Build an Online Fundraising Machine.
