Abila congratulates the 2016 Nonprofit CFO of the Year Award recipients, honored last Friday at a luncheon in Washington, D.C.

The CFO Awards recognize the often unsung leadership role CFOs have in the important works nonprofits do, working generally behind the scene as a key supporter of the executive director, to keep the organization moving forward. This year’s winners are:

Nonprofit CFO of the Year
Deborah A. Cowan, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer at National Public Radio (NPR)

Nonprofit CFO Transformational Leader
Paul Archambeault, Senior Vice President, Chief Financial and Operating Officer of Airlines for America (A4A)

Nonprofit CFO Rising Star
Carolyn Mollen, Chief Financial Officer at Independent Sector

As a proud Platinum Sponsor of the 2016 Nonprofit CFO of the Year Awards luncheon, Abila sent several leaders to D.C. to help honor the winners. Senior Director Susan Stewart-Kelley has this to say about her experience. “The luncheon was a unique opportunity to celebrate the unsung heroes of many NPOs. We enjoyed learning the day-to-day challenges these folks face, and how they work strategically to ensure the lasting impact and longevity of the organization,” she says. “Their role is extraordinarily multi-faceted and well deserving of recognition.”
